Impact Assessments, Method Statements & Tree Protection

The BS5837 survey provides the baseline report which, when considered alongside the development proposal, can highlight potential clashes between trees and proposals for a site. These conflicts may include incursions in to the root protection area, over shadowing or potential nuisance to properties or residents.

These potential issues are then analysed in the Impact Assessment. If there are solutions to problems, including layout changes then these are discussed. If the removal of trees is the only option then potential losses are clearly set out.

Solutions to problems are explained in the accompanying Method Statement. This may include protective barriers, ground protection and special engineering techniques. Site monitoring can also be a major element of this work.

As well as the written reports an important drawing known as a Tree Protection Plan is generated at this stage.
